Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Penoir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mario Penoir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Penoir.
No joy there for Taylor, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Taylor. Penoir shrugs it off though.
Penoir throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Taylor on the side of the head.
Penoir misses with a straight left.
Penoir throws a hook but Taylor blocks it.
Taylor bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Penoir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Taylor is fending him off so far but Penoir persists. Nope, Taylor circles away and we're back to standing.
Penoir throws a right and a left that Taylor avoids nicely.
Taylor misses with the combination.
Penoir looks for a takedown but Taylor sprawls well.
Penoir fails to land with a series of punches.
Taylor bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Penoir's head.
It looks like Mario Penoir has been cut.
Penoir misses the jab.
Taylor thows a body kick. Penoir tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Penoir is breathing heavily.
Taylor dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Penoir. That did some damage!
Penoir throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Taylor counters with a thumping low kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Taylor misses with a two punch combination.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Taylor drops Penoir with a right and a left! Taylor comes rushing in but Penoir regains his composure and manages to keep Taylor in guard.
Taylor gets to his feet. Penoir looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Taylor drops Penoir with a left and a right! Oh, Penoir is hurt - Taylor dives into side control looking to finish!
Penoir is rocked!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A lull in the action here as Taylor stalls from top position.
Oh Penoir is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Taylor stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Penoir doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Penoir seems to have got his legs back now.
Taylor buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Taylor scores with a punch to the head.
Taylor throws a head kick but Penoir moves out of range.
Taylor plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Mario Penoir's cut is getting worse.
Penoir fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mario Penoir. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Taylor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Penoir misses with a hook. Taylor ducked under it nicely.
Taylor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Taylor misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Taylor throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Taylor moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Taylor lands a nice looking body shot.
Penoir throws a sloppy body shot
and Taylor cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Taylor changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Taylor scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Penoir is rocked!
Mario Penoir's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Taylor cracks Penoir on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Penoir falls backwards against the cage. Taylor follows up with more strikes that drop Penoir to his knees. Taylor keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Penoir! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nathan Taylor!
