The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruth leaves Hardaway with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Demetrius Hardaway seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hardaway gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hardaway wants to stand up but Ruth is controlling him.

Ruth works to advance to full mount. Hardaway defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Let's hope that Ruth has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Hardaway is looking to stand up but Ruth isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruth is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hardaway is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hardaway has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ruth is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Ruth looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hardaway with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hardaway is bucking up trying to escape but Ruth cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Well Ruth has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
