Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremiah Hunter (ranked 24520 p4p, 2620 weight class) and Jim Lingfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lingfield has chosen "antidepressants" by bbno$ as his entrance music. Jeremiah Hunter is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeremiah Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Lingfield!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lingfield closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lingfield not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hunter avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lingfield.

Lingfield is trying to work for a kimura but Hunter is defending well.
Lingfield missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Hunter definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Lingfield is nestled in close to Hunter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hunter is trying to control but can't.

Lingfield looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lingfield is working for a kimura but Hunter is defending it quite comfortably.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunter keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Lingfield wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hunter keeps working.
Hunter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lingfield is working away from the top position though.

Lingfield is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hunter sees it coming and defends easily.
Lingfield lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lingfield is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hunter is staying active underneath Lingfield, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lingfield is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hunter is just riding it out for now. Lingfield eventually gives up the hold.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hunter wants to improve his position but Lingfield is controlling well.
Lingfield is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Hunter is controlling Lingfield's trapped leg to prevent Lingfield from advancing to side control.
Hunter moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

My spies in CN・Dojo inform me that Lingfield has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Hunter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hunter is stalling here. Lingfield is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hunter seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lingfield has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Lingfield wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hunter, who protects the arm well.
Lingfield is putting a hurting on Hunter here, landing some big shots from side control.

Hunter sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Lingfield has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lingfield tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hunter knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Lingfield is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hunter doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lingfield.
Lingfield thows a huge punch but Hunter dodges it nicely.

Hunter is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Lingfield has latched onto it... Big trouble! Lingfield pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Hunter is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Lingfield!
