The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chase fails in his attempt to clinch.
Buzz Chase seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mendes keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Chase.
Chase moves into range and connects with a jab.
Mendes slips a jab and a cross from Chase.
Chase clinches with his opponent.
Mendes drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Chase misses with a hook to the ribs.

Chase is nestled in close to Mendes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
