Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Louis (ranked 924 p4p, 1051 weight class) and Alonzo Diggs (ranked 117 p4p, 128 weight class). Joe Louis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Louis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alonzo Diggs!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Louis misses the jab.
Diggs changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Diggs blocks a jab.
Diggs swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Louis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Diggs.
Diggs lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Louis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diggs manages to avoid it.
Diggs swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Louis throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Diggs on the side of the head.
Louis throws a lazy right hand but Diggs sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Louis enables Diggs to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Louis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

And Diggs tries to counter it with a takedown but Louis pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Louis bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Diggs's head backwards.
Nice takedown defense from Louis. No joy for Diggs on that attempt.
Joe Louis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alonzo Diggs.

Louis connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Diggs takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Diggs uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Louis.
Diggs lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Diggs ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Louis misses with a lunging right hand
and Louis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Louis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Diggs is trying hard to land a takedown here. Louis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Louis is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Diggs thows a leg kick but Louis checks it
and Louis counters with a nice uppercut.
Diggs fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Louis avoids it really well and circles away.
Diggs tries a head kick but it misses.
Louis pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Diggs back to the cage. Louis follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Diggs closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Louis quickly recovers to half guard.
Louis scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Diggs manages to mount him!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Diggs cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Diggs putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Oh Louis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Diggs in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Diggs postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Louis badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Diggs around the waist but Diggs pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Diggs is the winner by TKO! Diggs jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alonzo Diggs!
