Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mateus Carvalho (ranked 4746 p4p, 2200 weight class) and Vincent Serranzo (ranked 368 p4p, 236 weight class). Vincent Serranzo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vincent Serranzo!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Chad Campbell and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Serranzo counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Carvalho!
Carvalho throws Serranzo to one side and escapes!
Serranzo scores with a jab.
Carvalho with a lazy takedown attempt
enabling Serranzo to counter with a crisp jab.
Carvalho throws a sloppy head kick
and Serranzo counters with a stiff right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Serranzo lands a jab to Carvalho's midsection.
Carvalho closes this distance looking for a takedown but Serranzo circles away.
Serranzo now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Carvalho misses with a takedown
letting Serranzo counter with a right hand.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Serranzo can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Serranzo felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Carvalho wants to control but Serranzo is keeping him busy.

Serranzo is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Carvalho asserts his dominance and retains side control.

and Serranzo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Carvalho doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Serranzo connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Carvalho momentarily.

and Serranzo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Serranzo digs a good hook to Carvalho's body.
Carvalho is breathing heavily.

Carvalho is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Oh Carvalho is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
