Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Curtis Shannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 63 - 98 - 7, fighting out of Las Vegas, Higanti Libat!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shannon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Shannon stays in close to Libat's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shannon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Well, if Shannon is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Shannon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Libat for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shannon wants to pass the guard but Libat is defending well.
Libat has hold of Shannon's hands but Shannon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Shannon is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Libat!
Libat really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shannon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shannon cracks Libat with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Shannon has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Libat's face.
Libat tries to hold on but Shannon pushes him away.
Shannon lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
