Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elizar Smith (ranked 2778 p4p, 4074 weight class) and Axel Adler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adler avoids the head kick by Smith.
Smith misses with a head kick.
Adler throws a combination that misses
and Smith counters with a stiff right hand.
Adler throws a combination. Smith tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
The fighters circle momentarily. Smith darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Axel Adler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Adler on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Smith. Smith obviously looking to wear him down.
Adler scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Adler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.
Smith quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Adler tries to clinch
and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Nice shot lands for Smith.

Adler misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smith throws a head kick that misses.
Adler throws a front kick aimed at Smith's knee but Smith avoids it well.
Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Smith explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Adler is looking to clinch but Smith is avoiding it.
Smith getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Nice takedown defense from Smith. No joy for Adler on that attempt.
Smith scores with a head kick.
Adler is rocked!
Adler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Elizar Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Axel Adler.

Horrible takedown attempt by Adler or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith, which made it look bad.
Adler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.

Smith scores with a head kick. Adler tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Smith counters with a crisp right hand that drops Adler! Smith lets Adler back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Adler is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him?

Adler throws a lazy head kick
and Smith counters with a big left hand that crumples Adler! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!
