Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kaito Nakamura (ranked 3963 p4p, 3974 weight class) and Jason Lonergan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Lonergan!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lonergan throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Nakamura shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lonergan is trying to defend but Nakamura finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Lonergan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nakamura is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nakamura seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lonergan for as long as he can get away with.

Lonergan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nakamura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nakamura slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Nakamura has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Lonergan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nakamura looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Lonergan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nakamura, who protects the arm well.

Nakamura is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Nakamura is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lonergan can do to turn this around?

Kaito Nakamura overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nakamura's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
