Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Smielchansky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nba Youngboy! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and Joseph Jones.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smielchansky closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Youngboy's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Smielchansky wants to control from the top but Youngboy keeps moving. Youngboy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Smielchansky showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Youngboy looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smielchansky looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smielchansky scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Youngboy has his foot on Smielchansky's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smielchansky works his way back into a safe position though. Smielchansky controlling from the top position. Youngboy wants to stand but Smielchansky is controlling the position. Smielchansky is pushing down on Youngboy's leg trying to pass to half guard. Youngboy is fighting to maintain full guard but Smielchansky has managed to sneak the leg through. Smielchansky keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Youngboy blocking the ground and pound attempt from Smielchansky. Youngboy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smielchansky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Smielchansky is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Smielchansky is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Smielchansky slips a nice elbow through Youngboy's hands, connecting with Youngboy's forehead. Youngboy pushes Smielchansky off looking to stand but Smielchansky dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smielchansky is trying to work for a kimura but Youngboy is defending well.

Smielchansky tries to clinch but Youngboy moves out of range. Youngboy avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Youngboy lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Youngboy is trying to control but Smielchansky passes into side control!

Smielchansky wants to clinch up but Youngboy keeps it at a distance. Youngboy tries to counter with a clinch but Smielchansky shakes him off and moves away. Youngboy avoids the head kick by Smielchansky.
Youngboy is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Youngboy shoots in for a takedown but Smielchansky shows good takedown defense. Smielchansky swats away the attempt to clinch by Youngboy. Youngboy tries for a takedown but Smielchansky sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Youngboy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smielchansky, pushing him back against the cage.
Smielchansky has Youngboy pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Smielchansky pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Youngboy tumbling to the mat - Smielchansky dives into Youngboy's guard. Smielchansky content to stall in guard here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Youngboy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smielchansky is one step ahead there.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Youngboy drives through with a takedown into guard. Smielchansky wants to control the position but Youngboy says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Smielchansky is trying to control but can't.
Youngboy seems to be working for a kimura but Smielchansky defends the submission attempt. Smielchansky is trying to get back to full guard. Youngboy is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Youngboy stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Smielchansky to get to his feet. Youngboy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smielchansky as he jumps to the side. David Smielchansky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nba Youngboy. Youngboy wants to clinch. Youngboy tries to clinch but Smielchansky is having none of it. Youngboy has a takedown stuffed. Youngboy is breathing heavily.

Damn, that's gotta suck. David Smielchansky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Smielchansky tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smielchansky is landing with some decent strikes but Youngboy is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Youngboy wants to hold on but Smielchansky pushes him away. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Smielchansky wants to take the fight to the mat but Youngboy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Youngboy has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Smielchansky uses from the top position. Youngboy looking to control but Smielchansky passes into half guard.

and Smielchansky holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Smielchansky is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Youngboy is trying to maintain a safe position but Smielchansky gets an underhook and turns Youngboy into the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Smielchansky is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Nba Youngboy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! David Smielchansky is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Youngboy throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Smielchansky escapes and throws Youngboy's legs to the side, diving into side control!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to David Smielchansky. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smielchansky, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
