Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trayvon Lewis (ranked 41 p4p, 418 weight class) and Great Tiger (ranked 5 p4p, 57 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 29 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Trayvon Lewis! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Great Tiger! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lewis throws the left hand but Tiger avoids the punch easily.
Lewis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ground and pound from Lewis seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Tiger wants to control but Lewis postures up. Tiger is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Lewis working away. Tiger prevents Lewis from improving position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis scoring with punches and elbows. Tiger tries to bench press Lewis off him but Lewis keeps the position. Lewis is looking to take a break and control but Tiger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis has knee on belly and moves into mount. Lewis lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Tiger can't escape the position.

Lewis not landing any meaningful shots this time. Lewis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tiger knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Tiger avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lewis. Lewis wants to control but Tiger is keeping him busy. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Tiger looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Tiger is trying to control but can't.

Lewis is really struggling to control Tiger but he's trying to hold on to the position. Tiger wants to get back to full guard. Lewis misses with a head shot. Tiger uses the momentum to regain guard.  The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A jab from Lewis finds it's way through Tiger's defenses. Lewis lands an overhand right. Lewis lands a really nice looking cross but Tiger seems unphased.

Tiger is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lewis defends well. Lewis throws a big right hand that misses. Tiger has momentary wrist control but Lewis slips an elbow through the middle.
Lewis postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tiger is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lewis, into his guard.
Lewis wants to sweep but no luck. Tiger's corner is telling him to maintain position. Lewis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tiger is one step ahead there. Lewis controls Tiger momentarily but Tiger frees himself.
 That's eight minutes gone in the round. Tiger content to stall in guard here. Tiger tries to free his leg and advance position but Lewis is retaining full guard.
Tiger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lewis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tiger has managed to get both his arms back between Lewis's legs - danger averted. Tiger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lewis swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Tiger has picked Lewis up and slammed him! Lewis can't keep hold of the triangle and Tiger manages to pass to side control! Tiger just content to control the position. Tiger is continuing to stall.
 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Lewis is not content to let Tiger control the position. Tiger tries to advance to mount but Lewis denies him. Lewis tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Tiger presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Tiger can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lewis is looking to escape. Tiger controlling from mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lewis wants to hold on but Tiger pushes him away. Lewis is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tiger is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tiger takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Tiger takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Lewis uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Trayvon Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Tiger throws a big shot that misses. Lewis listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. A slow jab from Tiger misses its intended target. Tiger misses the jab. Tiger takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Tiger moves into range and clinches up with Lewis. Lewis just leaning against Tiger, taking a breather. Tiger lands a left hand.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Lewis stalling in the clinch but Tiger improves position. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Tiger creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Tiger misses with the head strike.
Lewis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Nice body punch from Tiger. Tiger misses with a punch on the inside.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lewis drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tiger pulls his leg out and moves away.

Tiger tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Lewis connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Great Tiger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Trayvon Lewis. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lewis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
