Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Clarence Boston!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vitor Mesquita!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesquita moves away from the strike by Boston.
Mesquita looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Boston misses with a looping right.
Mesquita changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Boston throws a right hand that misses
and Mesquita counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mesquita pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
An attempted straight right counter from Boston misses the target.
Mesquita avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mesquita thuds his right hand into Boston's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Mesquita swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boston takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mesquita feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bostons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Mesquita moves forwards but Boston connects with a nice, crisp jab.
It looks like Vitor Mesquita has been cut.

Boston falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mesquita counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Boston is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mesquita is aware though and is defending well.
Boston has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mesquita is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Boston.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boston is trying to control Mesquita's posture but Mesquita avoids it.
Boston wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Mesquita bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mesquita comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Boston cracks Mesquita with a right hand to the side of the head.
Mesquita misses with a looping left.
Mesquita shoots in looking for a takedown but Boston manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mesquita's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Boston was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Mesquita slips a jab and a cross from Boston.
Boston throws a hook to the side of Mesquita's head but Mesquita sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Clarence Boston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mesquita shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Boston napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Boston is trying to control Mesquita's posture but Mesquita avoids it.

Mesquita thows a huge punch but Boston dodges it nicely.

Boston tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mesquita smiles and moves away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Boston. Mesquita does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Mesquita counters with a nice uppercut.
Mesquita clinches up with Boston and pushes him back against the cage.
Boston is looking to control Mesquita's arms but Mesquita gets an underhook and turns him. Now Boston has his back to the cage.

Boston tries to pull guard but Mesquita holds him up against the cage and eventually Boston drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clarence Boston. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boston gets control of Mesquita's arms and successfully pulls guard. Boston will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mesquita forces his way into half guard.
Mesquita seems to be working for a kimura but Boston defends the submission attempt.

The fighters are battling for position here. Boston manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Boston has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Mesquita should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Boston has tightened it up now! Mesquita should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

A less than humble Clarence Boston misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
