Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jayvion Diaz (ranked 715 p4p, 1788 weight class) and Cooper West (ranked 70 p4p, 160 weight class). Jayvion Diaz has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jayvion Diaz! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cooper West! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! West shoots in but Diaz avoids the takedown attempt easily. West goes for a double leg but Diaz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Diaz continues to drive forward. Diaz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from West. Jayvion Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cooper West. A lazy left from Diaz finds it's target. Horrible takedown attempt by West or perhaps it was just good defense by Diaz, which made it look bad. Diaz half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. West misses with a takedown attempt - Diaz sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. West is trying hard to land a takedown here. Diaz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. West slips a jab and a cross from Diaz.
West shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Diaz sprawls well. Diaz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. West gets slowly back to his feet. Diaz seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz stuffs the takedown attempt from West. West gets slowly back to his feet. West closes the distance and clinches up with Diaz, looking for a takedown. West pushes Diaz against the ropes but Diaz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. West looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Jayvion Diaz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. West shoots in looking for a takedown but Diaz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing West's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. West shoots in for a takedown but Diaz shows good takedown defense. West shoots in but Diaz avoids the takedown attempt easily.
West closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Diaz is controlling West's trapped leg to prevent West from advancing to side control.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz misses with some strikes from the bottom.
West is thwarting Diaz's attempts to control the position. Diaz is not content to let West control the position.
West is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Diaz sees it coming and defends easily.
West is trying to work for a kimura but Diaz is defending well.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Diaz is trying to maintain the position but West is very close to passing his half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. West is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. West is trying to control the action in half guard but Diaz is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. West misses with a takedown attempt - Diaz sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. West shoots for a takedown but Diaz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Diaz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from West. West closes the distance and clinches up with Diaz, looking for a takedown. West pushes Diaz against the ropes but Diaz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. West fails with a takedown attempt. A nice combination there by Diaz.

He's got his arms around Diaz's waist but Diaz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing West off to one side. Diaz throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. West shoots in looking for a takedown but Diaz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing West's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Diaz feinted with a counter takedown. Cooper West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. West looks winded!
 That's five minutes gone in the round. Diaz scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
 West is rocked! BAM! Diaz delivers a spinning backfist that drops West like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Jayvion Diaz! Jayvion Diaz retains his bantamweight title! After winning the bout, Jayvion Diaz thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
