Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Evangeline Duran (ranked 3795 p4p, 3500 weight class) and Colt Ruger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evangeline Duran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Colt Ruger!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruger shoots in and drives through. Duran sprawls well.
Duran is looking to chop away at Ruger's legs.
Duran looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ruger gets a takedown into half guard.

Duran kicks off Ruger and gets to his feet.
A punch combination from Duran misses.
Ruger fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Duran tries a low kick but Ruger avoids it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Duran misses with a wild combination.

Ruger shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Duran is trying to defend but Ruger finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Ruger working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ruger not doing much here.

Ruger is looking for a kimura but Duran is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ruger to get the leverage.
Ruger takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Ruger content to control rather than advance.
Ruger landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Duran wants to improve his position but Ruger is controlling well.
Ruger takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Ruger is trying to control. Duran wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Ruger working over Duran with some ground and pound. Duran looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ruger is looking to pass Duran's guard but actually Duran recovers to full guard.
Duran will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Duran trying to keep a closed guard but Ruger is proving a slippery customer.
Ruger trying to control but Duran is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ruger looking to pass the guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duran escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ruger gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Duran pushes Ruger off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Duran pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Duran misses with a double jab.
Duran throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ruger! But no joy.

Ruger bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ruger working the body and head with strikes.
Ruger is looking to take a break and control but Duran is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duran is trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ruger cracks Duran with a big right hand but Duran just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ruger is putting a hurting on Duran here, landing some big shots from side control.
Ruger advances nicely into full mount.
We've been informed that Ruger has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Ruger wants to control the pace but Duran is squirming around nicely.
Ruger looking to control and managing it successfully.
The referee warns Duran that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ruger postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Duran bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Ruger and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Colt Ruger!
After winning the bout, Colt Ruger thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
