Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shinobu Ota (ranked 3837 p4p, 5184 weight class) and Chongnoi Yagan (ranked 260 p4p, 278 weight class). Shinobu Ota has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chongnoi Yagan!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ota with a lazy takedown attempt
and Yagan counters with a nice leg kick.
Shinobu Ota seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Yagan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

letting Yagan counter with a right hand.

Ota goes for a double leg but Yagan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Yagan continues to drive forward.

Yagan has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

Ota looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chongnoi Yagan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ota dives in and grabs Yagan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Yagan pushes down on Ota's head and hops out.
Ota shoots and misses
and Yagan counters with a nice uppercut.
Ota gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Yagan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Yagan is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Ota with a body shot.
Yagan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Ota gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Yagan to counter with a crisp jab.
A lazy left from Yagan finds it's target.
Ota has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Yagan finds it's way round the side to connect with Ota's head.

Yagan closes the distance and clinches.

Yagan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Yagan throws a big uppercut that drops Ota! More strikes from Yagan and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Ota lies dazed against the cage as Yagan celebrates with his cornermen!
