PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Denzel Curry (ranked 4006 p4p, 3976 weight class) and Khalid Al Rashid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Denzel Curry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Khalid Al Rashid!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Rashid shoots in for a takedown but Curry shows good takedown defense.
Curry looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A solid leg kick lands there for Al Rashid.
Al Rashid dives in and grabs Curry's left leg, looking for a takedown. Curry pushes down on Al Rashid's head and hops out.
Al Rashid is trying hard to land a takedown here. Curry sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Denzel Curry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Khalid Al Rashid.

Al Rashid closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Curry tries for a takedown but Al Rashid sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Al Rashid goes for a double leg but Curry avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Curry continues to drive forward.
Curry jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

A close round but Khalid Al Rashid will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Curry shoots for a double leg takedown but Al Rashid sprawls well. He's pushed Curry's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Al Rashid fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Curry, pushing him back against the cage.
Curry jumps guard but Al Rashid turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Curry tries to stall but Al Rashid uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Denzel Curry will probably get the nod.

Curry gets tackled into the cage by Al Rashid. Al Rashid maintains the clinch.

Al Rashid wants to lay and pray for a moment but Curry keeps working.

Khalid Al Rashid comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Al Rashid has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
