Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buzz Chase (ranked 2696 p4p, 3090 weight class) and Greg Gardner (ranked 268 p4p, 293 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buzz Chase! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Greg Gardner! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gardner slips a jab from Chase. Gardner with a nice cross. Gardner cracks Chase with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Chase looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Gardner works the jab nicely.
 It looks like Buzz Chase has been cut. Gardner tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chase was well out of range. Poor timing from Gardner. Chase throws an off balance right hand
and Gardner counters with a right hand to the body. Good shot there by Gardner. Gardner misses with a hook. Chase ducked under it nicely. The fighters circle momentarily. Chase darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Chase closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gardner's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hammerfist, elbow! yells Chase's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Chase throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Chase throwing strikes but missing. Gardner wants to sweep here but Chase controlling him for the moment.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Chase trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Chase with a flurry of punches that miss. Chase working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Chase passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Chase working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Chase is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gardner is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Chase wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gardner keeps working. Chase has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Chase looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Gardner is avoiding damage well.
Chase wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gardner, who protects the arm well. Gardner is not content to let Chase control the position. Chase tries to advance to mount but Gardner denies him. Gardner regains half guard, as Chase was trying to land strikes.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Gardner tries to roll over but Chase keeps him under control. Gardner wants to control but Chase is keeping busy and won't allow it. Chase wants to control but Gardner is keeping him busy.
Chase is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gardner has managed to free his arm - good work. Chase throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Chase thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Chase is working for a submission of some sort.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gardner is defending against the submission attempts here by Chase.
Gardner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chase. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chase prevents Gardner from improving his position. Gardner keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Chase looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Gardner tries to roll over but Chase keeps him under control.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. Chase thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gardner is trying to stand up here but Chase is controlling him well.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Chase takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Decent striking displayed by Chase there. Chase on the wrong end of a nice hook. Gardner's coach down at UnderDawg Fight Club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gardner's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Chase drives through and clinches with Gardner against the ropes.
Chase goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Chase tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Chase. Chase working aggressively here.
Chase misses with a hook from the clinch. Gardner missing with knees to the body.
Chase breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Gardner moves into range and connects with a jab. Greg Gardner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gardner slips under a jab.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Gardner scores with a jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chase with a nice cross. Chase with a poor takedown letting Gardner counter with a right hand. Chase lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. A shot to the liver by Chase. Beautiful body shot. Gardner drops Chase with a naaaaasty hook - Chase is in real trouble here! Gardner dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Greg Gardner!
