Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rui Mendonca (ranked 3595 p4p, 1930 weight class) and Taneli Salo (ranked 376 p4p, 231 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mendonca might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIgP-Xk7DxQ. Salo has chosen Master of Puppets as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Taneli Salo!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salo wants to clinch up but Mendonca keeps it at a distance.
Mendonca tries a head kick but it misses.
Salo misses with a takedown attempt - Mendonca sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Salo has closed the distance and engaged Mendonca in a clinch.
Salo has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Mendonca clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Salo is cranking Mendonca's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Mendonca! He's tightened the choke and Mendonca is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Taneli Salo!
Taneli Salo was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
