Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shemp Cobblestone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cobblestone avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Left hook, right uppercut from Cobblestone.
Dias displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cobblestone.
Cobblestone dives in and grabs Dias's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dias pushes down on Cobblestone's head and hops out.
Dias wants to clinch.
Cobblestone looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Cobblestone shoots for a double leg takedown but Dias sprawls well. He's pushed Cobblestone's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ricky Dias has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shemp Cobblestone.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters circle momentarily. Cobblestone darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Cobblestone tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dias smiles and moves away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Cobblestone counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Dias manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Dias tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cobblestone swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Dias lands with an uppercut that bounces Cobblestone off the cage and back into rage.

That has opened up Shemp Cobblestone's cut even more.
A jab-cross combination lands for Dias and sends Cobblestone crashing to the mat! Dias follows him down to the mat - Cobblestone regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

The cut above Shemp Cobblestone's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Dias is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Cobblestone manages to get to full guard.

Dias has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cobblestone is proving hard to escape from.
Dias trying to control the position from guard on top but Cobblestone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dias looking to sit in guard and control but Cobblestone gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cobblestone wants to pass the guard but Dias is keeping the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dias fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dias tries to clinch but Cobblestone is having none of it.
Dias connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Shemp Cobblestone's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Shemp Cobblestone's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
