Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Quentin Hayes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Karter!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hayes staying out of range there.
Karter throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hayes on the side of the head.
Karter misses the shot to the body.
Karter misses with an uppercut.
Karter takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hayes takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Karter throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Karter rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hayes counters with a straight right hand.
Karter has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A telegraphed right hand from Hayes misses the target.
Hayes moves out of range of the strikes.
Jab, jab by Hayes - just one landing.
It looks like John Karter has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Karter connects with a looping right hand.
Karter blocks a head kick by Hayes.
A jab lands there for Karter.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Karter lands a left and a right that send Hayes crashing to the mat, dazed. Karter thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Hayes is rocked!
It looks like Quentin Hayes has been cut.
Hayes throws a lazy head kick
and Karter counters with a straight right hand.
Oh Hayes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hayes glances at the clock... BAM! Karter nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Hayes crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Hayes is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Karter!
An out of breath John Karter thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
