PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shin Sharp (ranked 5146 p4p, 25608 weight class) and Conner Bradshaw (ranked 361 p4p, 389 weight class). Conner Bradshaw is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Sharp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Conner Bradshaw!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bradshaw closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sharp looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Bradshaw keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Bradshaw is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sharp on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sharp tries to get out of the position.
Let's hope that Bradshaw has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Bradshaw uses his free foot to push down on Sharp's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sharp.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Bradshaw.
Sharp knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bradshaw on the ground.

Bradshaw has hold of Sharp's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sharp manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Bradshaw pushes Sharp up against the cage in a clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bradshaw wants to take the fight to the mat but Sharp manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Bradshaw lands a right hand that snaps the head of Sharp backwards.

Bradshaw pulls Sharp in close to his closed guard and prevents Sharp from doing any damage or advancing position.
Bradshaw manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sharp manages to get himself to full guard.

Bradshaw controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sharp might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bradshaw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Conner Bradshaw has got the better of the ground game so far.

Bradshaw lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Bradshaw is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Bradshaw shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sharp pinned against the cage. Sharp gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Shin Sharp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conner Bradshaw.

Sharp wants to stand back up but Bradshaw manages to pass into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Conner Bradshaw showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Bradshaw bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sharp's guard.

Bradshaw sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sharp's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bradshaw looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sharp with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Bradshaw takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bradshaw moves nicely into side control.

Sharp on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Bradshaw takes a little break here. Sharp wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Bradshaw is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Sharp is trying to escape and Bradshaw transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Sharp is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bradshaw! Very nice indeed!
