Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Eagle (ranked 25806 p4p, 4329 weight class) and Bruno Azevedo (ranked 417 p4p, 370 weight class). Bruno Azevedo has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with David Eagle's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Eagle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruno Azevedo!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eagle rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Azevedo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Azevedo shoots in for a takedown but Eagle shows good takedown defense.
Azevedo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Eagle throws an off balance right hand

and Azevedo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Eagle's guard.
Eagle preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

and Eagle cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
David Eagle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Eagle loads up on a big right hand but Azevedo slips the punch.
Eagle swings for the body but Azevedo moves out of range.
Azevedo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Eagle.
Eagle jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Eagle misses with an uppercut.
Azevedo is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Azevedo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Eagle gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Eagle avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eagle can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Azevedo controls the pace.

Azevedo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Azevedo distracts Eagle with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Azevedo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Azevedo keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Eagle's head.

Azevedo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Eagle avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Azevedo is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

It looks like Azevedo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Azevedo moves out of range of the strikes.
Azevedo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Eagle as he avoids it easily.
David Eagle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruno Azevedo.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Eagle misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Azevedo.
David Eagle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eagle lands a lovely overhand right.
Azevedo closes the distance and clinches up with Eagle, looking for a takedown. Azevedo pushes Eagle against the cage but Eagle circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Azevedo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Azevedo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Eagle doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Azevedo.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Eagle throws a lazy right hand but Azevedo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Azevedo lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like David Eagle has been cut.
Azevedo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A jab-cross combination lands for Azevedo and sends Eagle crashing to the mat! Azevedo follows him down to the mat - Eagle regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Eagle is rocked!
Eagle definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Azevedo scores with a big shot! Eagle's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Eagle! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bruno Azevedo!
