Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Valerio (ranked 455 p4p, 413 weight class) and Stephen Dyer (ranked 67 p4p, 61 weight class). Valerio's entrance music is God is a DJ - Faithless. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ernesto Valerio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Stephen Dyer!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valerio throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dyer tries to clinch up.
Valerio half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Valerio misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A clash of legs there as Dyer blocks the low kick.
Dyer steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

and Dyer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Valerio has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Valerio will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dyer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Valerio manages to get himself to full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dyer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Dyer has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Valerio throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dyer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Valerio jumps guard and drags Dyer to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Valerio has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Dyer doesn't defend quickly enough and Valerio has managed to lock this one up! Can Dyer escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Valerio on a fantastic submission victory.
