Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Baron Welch (ranked 2302 p4p, 5242 weight class) and Harrison Jackson (ranked 194 p4p, 280 weight class). Welch comes to the cage accompanied by Red Light. Jackson has chosen Devil Town - Cavetown as his entrance music. Harrison Jackson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Baron Welch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harrison Jackson! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Reed Andrews and David Schapiro.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Welch fails with a takedown attempt. Welch shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Welch's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Welch has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Baron Welch. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson fails to land the takedown. Jackson lands a jab to Welch's midsection. Welch takes a jab right on the kisser.
Jackson shoots in but no luck this time.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Jackson enables Welch to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jackson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Welch throws a big right hand that misses. Jackson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Welch is stalling in the full guard. Welch trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Welch works over Jackson with some ground and pound from guard. Welch distracts Jackson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Welch accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Welch with a nice head shot there. Welch won't allow Jackson to sweep him here. Welch scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Welch forces his way into half guard. Welch winds up and cracks Jackson with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Welch is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Welch thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jackson's head. Welch wants to take a breather but Jackson is having none of it. Jackson manages to get to full guard.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Welch content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Welch is one step ahead there. Welch scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Welch is stalling in the full guard. Jackson looking to control.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson has momentary wrist control but Welch slips an elbow through the middle. Welch preventing the sweep. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Welch's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Jackson controls Welch momentarily but Welch frees himself. Welch working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jackson's head. Welch lands a couple of elbows. Jackson working a defensive guard here.
Welch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Welch wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Welch swivels though and keeps the full guard. Welch wants to sweep here but Jackson controlling him for the moment. Welch avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Welch bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.

Welch is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Welch trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Welch trying to move into half guard but instead Jackson has managed to sweep!

Welch has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though. Welch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jackson manages to get himself to full guard.
 We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Welch chips away with some ground and pound. Welch stays in close to Jackson's body and controls the position. Jackson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Welch keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jackson's head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Baron Welch dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Welch looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Welch.

Welch makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Welch. Jackson stands and throws Welch's legs to the side, diving into side control. Welch sneaks back into half guard.

Jackson wants to free his trapped foot but Welch is holding on for dear life with his legs. Jackson is thwarting Welch's attempts to control the position. Welch is staying active underneath Jackson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jackson wants to advance to full mount but Welch doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Welch is trying to control the position but Jackson postures up. Jackson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Baron Welch overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Welch keeping full guard, as Jackson tries to pass.
Jackson drops back looking for a leg! Welch is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Welch manages to kick Jackson off! Jackson jumps back into Welch's guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jackson preventing the sweep. Jackson trying to control but Welch is working from the bottom. Welch wants to sweep here but Jackson controlling him for the moment. Welch seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Welch looking for a sweep. Not yet Welch, not yet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Welch keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Harrison Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Welch will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Welch dives in for a single leg takedown but Jackson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Jackson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Welch walks away with a smile on his face. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jackson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Jackson tries to pass to full mount but Welch defends it. Welch tries to roll over but Jackson keeps him under control. Welch regains full guard. Nicely done. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson stopping the sweep attempt from Welch.
Welch working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jackson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jackson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jackson wants to control from the top but Welch keeps moving.

Welch is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jackson defends well. Jackson wants to control from the top but Welch keeps moving. Welch wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving. Welch stands up over Jackson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Welch in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Welch working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jackson's head. Jackson pulls Welch in to control the position. Welch is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Welch controlling from the top position. Welch trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Welch scoring with punches to the head and body. Welch cracks Jackson with a solid left hand. Jackson is trying to keep Welch in close.
Welch slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Jackson wants to control but Welch postures up. Welch scores with punches from side control. Jackson is trying to control Welch's posture but Welch avoids it. Jackson on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Welch landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Welch working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Jackson is trying to escape the position but Welch is controlling the position. You can see the frustration on Jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Welch moves into full mount! Welch looking to control but Jackson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Welch scoring with strikes but Jackson is staying in there. Jackson in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jackson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jackson wants to hold on but Welch pushes him away.
And that's the end of the fight! Baron Welch showed his dominance in that final round. I think Welch has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
