Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Max Claxton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nuck Cong!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cong slips under a jab.
Cong is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Claxton swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A low kick from Cong is predictable there
and Claxton counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Claxton swats away the attempt to clinch by Cong.
A jab lands there for Claxton.
Claxton scores with the left hand. Cong knows he should have avoided that one.
Cong is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Cong avoids the body shot from Claxton.
Cong drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Claxton defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Claxton dances in with a quick combination. Cong is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Claxton snaps Cong's head back. Cong stumbles backwards against the cage. Claxton steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Cong's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Cong just didn't come prepared.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Max Claxton!
Nuck Cong spoke after the fight, saying 'That was rigged. I demand an immediate rematch.'.
