Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Riku Fujimoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nico Mejia!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mejia throws a hook but Fujimoto avoids it easily.
A quick step to the side and Fujimoto tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fujimoto just misses with a punch to the body.
Fujimoto tries to bum rush Mejia with a series of wild strikes but Mejia uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mejia tries to score with a low kick but Fujimoto moves his leg out of the way.
Mejia thows a leg kick but Fujimoto checks it
and Fujimoto counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Mejia just misses with a punch to the body.
Mejia is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fujimoto.
Mejia shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fujimoto sprawls well. Fujimoto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mejia gets slowly back to his feet.
Nico Mejia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fujimoto lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mejia circles away quickly and effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mejia does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Fujimoto went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Fujimoto looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Mejia misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fujimoto.
A big left from Mejia misses.
Mejia misses with a hook
and Fujimoto connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mejia swings widly with a right hand
and Fujimoto counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mejia rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Fujimoto counters with a nice right hand that sends Mejia toppling to the canvas! Mejia scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Fujimoto finish him?!

Mejia is rocked!
Fujimoto is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Mejia hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Riku Fujimoto!
A very excited looking Riku Fujimoto made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
