Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mickey Mfer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matsuda Takeshi!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Mfer throws out a loose jab but Takeshi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mfer lands with a nice body punch.
Mfer sizes up Takeshi with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Mfer moves into range and clinches up with Takeshi.
Mfer tries to throw a body punch but Takeshi avoids it by throwing Mfer back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Takeshi goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mfer prevents it.

Mickey Mfer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matsuda Takeshi.

Mfer throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Takeshi on the side of the head.

and Mfer counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Takeshi has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mfer after a bit of a struggle.
Mfer tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Takeshi's elbow.

Takeshi bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Mfer comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Takeshi falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Takeshi was out before he hit the floor!
