PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel DuPont (ranked 4931 p4p, 25928 weight class) and Enver Vlasic (ranked 378 p4p, 394 weight class). Vlasic has chosen PIJEM PIVU RAKIJU I SLJIVU as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gabriel DuPont!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Enver Vlasic!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

DuPont clinches.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. DuPont obliges.

DuPont breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
DuPont tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vlasic was well out of range. Poor timing from DuPont.

DuPont takes the fight into the clinch.
Vlasic wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

DuPont pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vlasic misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

DuPont moves into range and clinches up with Vlasic.
Vlasic wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but DuPont has him pressed against the cage.

DuPont pulls guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
DuPont pulls Vlasic in close to his closed guard and prevents Vlasic from doing any damage or advancing position.
DuPont is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vlasic is controlling him.
DuPont is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Vlasic dives into side control.
Vlasic looks up at the clock and then as DuPont takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Vlasic smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
DuPont tries to buck Vlasic off but Vlasic is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
DuPont is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Vlasic's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Vlasic missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
DuPont pushes Vlasic off looking to stand but Vlasic dives back in and keeps control.
DuPont tries to get to full guard but Vlasic has control of the leg.
DuPont slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
DuPont is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vlasic is controlling him.
DuPont wants to sweep here but Vlasic controlling him for the moment.

DuPont is pulling down on Vlasic's head to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Vlasic has taken the fight to the clinch.
DuPont displaying some good clinch control by pressing Vlasic up against the cage.
Knees in the clinch landing for DuPont.

DuPont escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

DuPont closes the distance and clinches.
DuPont has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vlasic avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
DuPont has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vlasic is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
DuPont looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
DuPont lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

It looks like Enver Vlasic has been cut.
Vlasic looks winded!
Vlasic looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
DuPont tries to throw a body punch but Vlasic avoids it by throwing DuPont back against the cage.
DuPont drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Vlasic gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabriel DuPont. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
DuPont is trying to pull guard but Vlasic turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
DuPont lands an elbow inside that Vlasic shrugs off.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Enver Vlasic's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


DuPont closes the distance and clinches.
DuPont lands a body shot.
DuPont unloads a knee to the mid-section. Vlasic lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
DuPont tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
DuPont has Vlasic pushed against the cage.
Vlasic tries to break free but DuPont pushes him back against the cage.
Vlasic jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as DuPont walks away with a smile on his face. Vlasic gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
DuPont dives in for a single leg takedown but Vlasic sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
As DuPont backs off Vlasic throws a huge counter combo but DuPont manages to avoid it all.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
DuPont fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
DuPont has Vlasic pressed against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
DuPont creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Vlasic's defenses.
Vlasic is breathing heavily.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from DuPont.
The referee is keeping an eye on DuPont - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Vlasic being controlled against the cage.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Gabriel DuPont.

DuPont clinches.
DuPont has Vlasic pushed against the cage.
Knees in the clinch landing for DuPont.

DuPont is stalling here.
DuPont landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
DuPont manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
DuPont lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
DuPont dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
DuPont gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
DuPont tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Vlasic's elbow.
DuPont landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Vlasic letting DuPont take a breather here.

DuPont misses with the head strike.
Vlasic takes an elbow to the temple.

That has opened up Enver Vlasic's cut even more.
DuPont stalling.

DuPont breaks from the clinch.

DuPont moves into range and clinches up with Vlasic.
Gabriel DuPont has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Come on DuPont - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
DuPont has Vlasic pressed against the cage.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Gabriel DuPont.
Nice takedown defense from Vlasic. No joy for DuPont on that attempt.

DuPont closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
DuPont is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vlasic can do to turn this around?

DuPont breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

DuPont has managed to clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

DuPont throws a quick head kick that knocks Vlasic silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! DuPont is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Gabriel DuPont!
