Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Angelo Cortes Acosta (ranked 844 p4p, 1183 weight class) and Timmy Tung (ranked 99 p4p, 143 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Angelo Cortes Acosta! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Timmy Tung! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cortes Acosta catches Tung with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Tung has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Cortes Acosta scores with a crisp jab that stopped Tung in his tracks. Tung tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cortes Acosta swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cortes Acosta fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Tung looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Cortes Acosta scores with a shot to the body.

Cortes Acosta has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Timmy Tung dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Tung has Cortes Acosta pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Cortes Acosta is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Tung - that's hurt Cortes Acosta badly! Oh, another knee lands and Cortes Acosta is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Cortes Acosta doesn't seem to be complaining.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Timmy Tung! Timmy Tung is the new lightweight champion! Timmy Tung decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
