Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chaz Popizicki (ranked 418 p4p, 242 weight class) and John Boris (ranked 65 p4p, 34 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chaz Popizicki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Boris! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Popizicki looks to land a left hand but Boris moved out of range nicely. And Boris tries to counter it with a takedown but Popizicki pushes his down on his head and steps out. Popizicki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Popizicki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Boris looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Popizicki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boris keeps working. Popizicki tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Popizicki working away.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Popizicki tries to move to mount but Boris blocks the move with his legs. Popizicki fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Boris is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Popizicki working the body and head with strikes. Popizicki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boris keeps working. Boris struggling a bit here. Boris tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Popizicki wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Boris managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Popizicki.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Boris gets back to full guard.
Boris is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Popizicki throwing strikes but missing. Boris looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Boris is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Popizicki has his hands clasped together but Boris extends and breaks Popizicki's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Boris.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Boris! John Boris decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
