Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Derek Harris (ranked 1990 p4p, 1906 weight class) and Lucas Oliveira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derek Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Oliveira!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Oliveira tries to sprawl but Harris drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Oliveira blocking the ground and pound attempt from Harris.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harris seems to be working for a kimura but Oliveira defends the submission attempt.
Harris is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Harris takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Oliveira throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Harris is trying to maintain the position but Oliveira is very close to passing his half guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Harris tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Oliveira manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Harris swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Harris closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Oliveira quickly recovers to half guard.
Harris is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Oliveira sees it coming and defends easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Harris is pulling down on Oliveira's head. It's preventing any offense from Oliveira, at least for the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Derek Harris.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Harris, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
