Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Terry Slaughter (ranked 358 p4p, 752 weight class) and James Colby (ranked 39 p4p, 80 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Terry Slaughter has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Terry Slaughter seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terry Slaughter! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Colby! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and Joseph Jones.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Colby fails with the takedown.
Slaughter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Colby keeping moving, preventing Slaughter from controlling successfully. Slaughter content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Slaughter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Colby wants to stand but Slaughter is controlling the position. Slaughter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Colby preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Colby is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Slaughter forces his way into half guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Slaughter stalling. We've been hearing good reports from Slaughter's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Slaughter not landing any meaningful shots this time. Colby blocking the ground and pound attempt from Slaughter. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slaughter sitting and controlling from the half guard. Slaughter sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Colby defending well though. Slaughter prevents Colby from standing back up.
Colby is refusing to be controlled, as Slaughter sits in half guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Slaughter is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Colby scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Slaughter manages to mount him!

Colby is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Slaughter unloads with some shots from mount but Colby bucks and avoids them well.
Slaughter punishing his opponent with strikes. Colby is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Slaughter controlling the pace for now. Slaughter misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Slaughter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Colby is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Slaughter looking to ground and pound but Colby is blocking nicely. BOOM! Slaughter connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Colby tries to get back to half guard but can't. Slaughter tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Slaughter's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Slaughter with a couple of short strikes. Slaughter landing strikes, looking to finish! Colby is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Slaughter controlling the pace for now. Colby is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Slaughter putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Slaughter looking to finish Colby with some ground and pound. This is bad for Colby!
 Colby is rocked! We've been informed that Colby has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Slaughter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Colby is still in real trouble! Can Slaughter finish him? Slaughter dominating with strikes here. Colby tries to hold on but Slaughter postures up. Slaughter looking to control and managing it successfully. Slaughter postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Colby in real trouble here! The ref calls for Colby to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Terry Slaughter! Terry Slaughter retains his featherweight title! After winning the bout, Terry Slaughter thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
