Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between War Monger (ranked 2050 p4p, 1482 weight class) and Pete Jokinen (ranked 250 p4p, 178 weight class). Pete Jokinen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, War Monger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pete Jokinen!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Monger.
Jab from Monger.

Jokinen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Monger to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Monger trying to control but Jokinen is working from the bottom.
Monger controlling from the top position.
Jokinen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Monger drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Monger jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Monger tries to free his leg and advance position but Jokinen is retaining full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Monger throws a good cross that connects.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jokinen thows a left - swing and a miss!
Monger looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Monger misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jokinen.
Pete Jokinen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Monger throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jokinen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Monger is in Jokinen's guard.
Monger controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jokinen wants to stand and escape but Monger is having none of it.

Let's hope that Jokinen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Monger works over Jokinen with some ground and pound from guard.
Jokinen pulls Monger in to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jokinen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jokinen leaves Monger with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jokinen wants to counter the offense by Monger and move into the clinch position.
Jokinen looks to score with a jab to the body but Monger is just out of range.
Monger swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Jokinen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Jokinen throws a leg kick that is checked
and Monger counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jokinen thinking.

Nice defenses there by Jokinen.
Jokinen doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Monger throws a nice looking combination but Jokinen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Monger works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Monger on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
A punch combination from Monger misses.
Monger throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Jokinen to counter with a crisp jab.
Monger avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Monger ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jokinen moves away.
A slapping leg kick lands for Jokinen.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

enabling Jokinen to counter with a crisp jab.
Monger misses with an uppercut. Jokinen saw that one coming.
A little jabbing left from Jokinen on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Monger swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
War Monger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Monger fails to land with a series of punches.
Jokinen throws out a counter right but Monger avoids it with no problem.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Jokinen in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Monger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jokinen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Monger throws a good cross that connects.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Monger.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jokinen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Jokinen holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Monger is trying to control the action in half guard but Jokinen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Jokinen has his hands clasped together around Monger's back. He's all about the action.
Monger wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jokinen keeps working.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Monger is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jokinen can do to turn this around?

Monger is working for a kimura but Jokinen is defending it quite comfortably.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Monger, as that shot connected.
Monger shoots in looking for a takedown but Jokinen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Monger's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Jokinen unleashes a big counter combination but Monger bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
A left lands for Jokinen.
Jokinen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Monger.
Monger closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jokinen circles away.
Monger catches Jokinen with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Jokinen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
War Monger is winning the standup battle so far.

Jokinen slips under a jab.
Jokinen wants to counter with a clinch but Monger pushes him away.
Monger misses with a hook.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Jokinen! But no joy.
Monger fails to land with a series of punches.
A looping hook to the body misses from Monger. Jokinen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jokinen throws a fast counter high kick but Monger manages to duck under it in time.
Jokinen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Monger throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jokinen slips a jab from Monger.
And Jokinen responds with a good body kick, but Monger manages to step out the way in time.
Monger falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jokinen counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Jokinen rushes Monger and presses him up against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Jokinen.
Jokinen stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jokinen lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Jokinen cracks Monger with a nice body shot.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Jokinen.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jokinen is working Monger over against the cage.
Jokinen blocking some punches.

Jokinen scores with a nice hook to the head.
Jokinen lands on the inside with an uppercut.
A nice right hand lands inside from Jokinen.
Jokinen lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Monger is rocked!
Jokinen lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Oh Monger is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jokinen throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Mongers head.
Monger misses with a short punch on the inside.
Jokinen blocks an uppercut.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Pete Jokinen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Monger seems to have got his legs back now.

Jokinen sends Monger crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Jokinen is motioning to the referee to let Monger up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

It looks like War Monger has been cut.
Monger cracks Jokinen with an open hand slap.
War Monger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jokinen scores with a nice strike.
Jokinen takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Monger ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jokinen moves away.
Jokinen steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Monger.

and Monger takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Monger misses with an uppercut.
Monger swings widly with a right hand
and Jokinen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Monger throws a series of punches but Jokinen moves out of range.

Jokinen is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Jokinen stuffs the takedown.
Jokinen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Jokinen sends Monger crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Jokinen is motioning to the referee to let Monger up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Jokinen gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Jokinen creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Monger's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Monger drops to his knees and Jokinen pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
