Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lenn Meritt!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cardenas fails to land the takedown.
A punch combination from Cardenas misses.
Cardenas misses with a kick to the body
and Meritt counters with a shoot takedown. Cardenas fights it but they end up in guard.
Meritt stops Cardenas from standing up.
Meritt throwing strikes from guard but Cardenas blocks nicely.
Meritt passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Meritt is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cardenas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cardenas avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Meritt.

Meritt is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Cardenas is trying to escape and Meritt transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Cardenas is forced to tap! Nice work there by Meritt! Very nice indeed!
