Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Phil Qwerty (ranked 2527 p4p, 3759 weight class) and Dag Schotel (ranked 303 p4p, 391 weight class). Phil Qwerty has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Phil Qwerty! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dag Schotel! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schotel closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Qwerty quickly recovers to half guard. Schotel lands with a punch from half guard. Schotel sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Qwerty defending well though. Schotel with the ground and pound but Qwerty uses the opportunity to regain guard. Schotel being controlled here momentarily. Schotel throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Schotel throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Qwerty works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schotel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Qwerty swivels though and keeps the full guard. Schotel is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Schotel looking to sit in guard and control but Qwerty gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Schotel is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Qwerty defends well. Schotel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Qwerty is one step ahead there.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Schotel wants to hit a sweep here but Qwerty passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Schotel there! Schotel is working to get back to half guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Schotel is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Schotel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Qwerty wants to control but Schotel has made it back to half guard. Nice work. Schotel is looking to get back to full guard here but Qwerty has managed to pass to side control instead. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. You can see the frustration on Schotel's face as Qwerty controls the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Schotel is looking to reverse the position. Schotel is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Qwerty off and has taken his back! Schotel connects with a big shot to the side of Qwerty's head.
Qwerty tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Qwerty tries to hold on but Schotel pushes him away. Qwerty is trying desperately to improve position. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Schotel cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Qwerty is wriggling around trying to escape.
Schotel thowing shots but they're missing. Schotel unloading with bombs! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dag Schotel dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Qwerty works the jab nicely. Schotel lands a head shot. Qwerty swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Schotel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Schotel slips under a jab from Qwerty. Qwerty takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Qwerty connects with a jab. Qwerty pivots, looking for a leg kick but Schotel is out of range and Qwerty settles back down. Schotel moves away from the strike by Qwerty. Schotel swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Qwerty throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Schotel to counter with a crisp jab. Schotel lands with a hook. Qwerty tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Qwerty scores with the left hand. Schotel knows he should have avoided that one. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Qwerty throws a hook but Schotel blocks it. Qwerty throws a big shot that misses. Schotel shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Schotel slips under a jab from Qwerty. Qwerty scores with a jab to the body. Qwerty misses with a body punch
and Schotel counters with a stiff right hand. A big right from Schotel misses.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Qwerty falls off balance throwing a combination
and Schotel counters with a takedown into side control. Schotel with the ground and pound but Qwerty regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Qwerty avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Schotel. Schotel missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Qwerty is trying to control but can't.
Schotel has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Schotel throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schotel working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Schotel seems to be looking for submissions.
Qwerty is looking to improve his position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Schotel throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Qwerty to regain full guard. Qwerty wants to sweep here but Schotel controlling him for the moment. Schotel with a nice head shot there. Qwerty wants to sweep but no luck. Qwerty working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Schotel. Schotel wants to pass the guard but Qwerty is keeping the position. Schotel preventing the sweep.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Schotel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Qwerty swivels though and keeps the full guard. Schotel stands and throws Qwerty's legs to the side, diving into side control. Qwerty tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Schotel wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Schotel in side control, throwing shots but Qwerty defends.
Schotel swings around for an armbar but Qwerty sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Schotel's guard. Qwerty is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Schotel looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Schotel looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Qwerty puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Schotel works his way to full guard. Good work. Dag Schotel has got the better of the ground game so far.

A close second round but Dag Schotel will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Qwerty fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Schotel manages to avoid it. Schotel drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Qwerty defends it well. Qwerty throws a wild combination but nothing lands. And Schotel tries to counter it with a takedown but Qwerty pushes his down on his head and steps out. Qwerty takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Schotel shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Decent striking displayed by Schotel there. Schotel steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Qwerty. Qwerty chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Qwerty looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Qwerty connects with a jab. Schotel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Qwerty has time to react. Qwerty throws a body shot but no joy. Qwerty throws a right and a left that Schotel avoids nicely. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Qwerty needs to keep his hands up - Schotel had a free shot at his head there. Qwerty misses with a left hand and Schotel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Qwerty throws a lazy right hand but Schotel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Schotel lands an overhand right. Schotel lands with a shot to the body.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Schotel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Qwerty. Schotel throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Schotel ducks under a wild hook from Qwerty.
Schotel fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Qwerty to the ground. Schotel is now in Qwerty's guard. Schotel is working Qwerty over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Schotel trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Qwerty wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Schotel working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Qwerty's head. Schotel lands a couple of digs. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Schotel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Qwerty looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Phil Qwerty has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Schotel trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Qwerty utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Schotel throws an elbow that misses. Qwerty uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Schotel's guard. Nice move by Qwerty!

Schotel looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Qwerty has picked Schotel up and slammed him! Schotel can't keep hold of the triangle and Qwerty manages to pass to side control!
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Schotel tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Qwerty wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Schotel struggling a bit here. Schotel is trying to get back to half guard. Qwerty staying calm. Dag Schotel is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Schotel is looking for a sweep. Schotel avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Qwerty. Schotel tries to improve position but can't.
Qwerty is trying to get an arm triangle but Schotel is defending well. Qwerty misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Dag Schotel. Well Schotel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Dag Schotel! A relieved looking Dag Schotel thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Phil Qwerty spoke after the fight, saying 'God damn, its not good to take a fight when you have a hangover....'.
