Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sami Sakkinen (ranked 1693 p4p, 5123 weight class) and Slade Hodge (ranked 179 p4p, 387 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sami Sakkinen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Slade Hodge! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sakkinen fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Sakkinen throws the left hand but Hodge avoids the punch easily. Sakkinen misses with a few strikes there.
Sakkinen scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Sakkinen connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
 It looks like Slade Hodge has been cut. Sakkinen misses with a straight left. Sakkinen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hodge.
Hodge misses with a left hand and Sakkinen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Hodge thows a left - swing and a miss! A slow jab from Hodge misses its intended target. We've been told by Sakkinen's head coaches at The Tank Factory that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Sakkinen scores with a sloppy right hand. Hodge should have avoided that one. Sakkinen throws out a powerful jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hodge misses with a hook. Hodge avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Sakkinen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Hodge swinging wildly here.
Sakkinen's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Sakkinen duly obliges. Sakkinen lands with a straight right. Hodge didn't see that one coming.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A lazy left from Sakkinen finds it's target. Hodge dodges the punch combination from Sakkinen.
Sakkinen fails to land the takedown. Hodge is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Sakkinen lands a right hook to the body.

Sakkinen moves out of range as Hodge strikes. Hodge throws an overhand right that lands on Sakkinen's shoulder, as Sakkinen tries to avoid the shot. Sakkinen attempts a counter takedown but Hodge avoids it well and moves away. Nice sprawl there from Hodge as Sakkinen shoots in. Sakkinen just misses with a punch to the body.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Hodge avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Hodge throws a counter combo. Sakkinen takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Hodge lunges at Sakkinen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sakkinen's hand. Hodge fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sakkinen avoids it really well and circles away. Hodge throws a looping overhand right but Sakkinen ducks down to avoid it. Sakkinen is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Sakkinen scores with a decent looking hook. Good standup being displayed there by Sakkinen as he connects with a hook.
 Hodge is rocked! Hodge throws an overhand right that lands on Sakkinen's shoulder, as Sakkinen tries to avoid the shot. Hodge is still on wobbly legs! Can Sakkinen finish him? Hodge swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Sakkinen attempts a counter takedown but Hodge avoids it well and moves away. Hodge seems to have recovered his senses. Hodge throws a looping overhand right but Sakkinen ducks down to avoid it. Sakkinen bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Sakkinen connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Sakkinen connects with a body shot. Sakkinen scores with a hook to the body. Hodge takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Sakkinen throws out a loose jab but Hodge uses good head movement to avoid it. Sakkinen is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. A left lands for Sakkinen.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Hodge doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Sakkinen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hodge. Hodge takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Hodge takes a swing at Sakkinen's ribcage but misses. Sakkinen cracks Hodge with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Hodge falls to his knees and Sakkinen doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sami Sakkinen! The defeated Slade Hodge had this to say: 'I'm not done here.'.
