Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearce scores with a crisp jab that stopped Shifter in his tracks.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Shifter has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Pearce is pressed up against the cage. Shifter has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pearce down to the mat. Pearce avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Pearce fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shifter looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Shifter goes for a takedown attempt but Pearce pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kashton Pearce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shifter closes the distance and clinches up with Pearce, looking for a takedown. Shifter pushes Pearce against the cage but Pearce circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pearce bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Pearce feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shifter sprawling to the canvas! Shifter rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Pearce finish him?!
Pearce fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Pearce fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kashton Pearce is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Pearce lands a big right hand that sends Shifter crashing to the mat! Pearce stays standing though and waves Shifter back to his feet!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kashton Pearce decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
