Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Billy Jack (ranked 2789 p4p, 3738 weight class) and Borro Tomassi (ranked 287 p4p, 340 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Jack! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Borro Tomassi! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jack fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tomassi avoids it really well and circles away.
Jack clinches up against the ropes. Tomassi is trying to push Jack away but Jack has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Jack has Tomassi pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jack pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending Tomassi tumbling to the mat - Jack dives into Tomassi's guard.
Jack is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tomassi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jack drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tomassi looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tomassi looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tomassi!
Jack tries to buck Tomassi off but Tomassi is having none of it.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Tomassi tries to stand but Jack is controlling his head. The ground and pound from Tomassi seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Jack tries to get back to half guard but can't. Jack gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Jack looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Jack wants to control but Tomassi is keeping busy.
Tomassi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jack keeps working. Tomassi performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Jack avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Tomassi.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jack trying to control but Tomassi postures up.
Tomassi passes into side control, despite Jack's attempt to control the position.
Jack can't do much from the bottom here. Tomassi wants to stand but Jack has his arm trapped. Jack gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Tomassi is trying to control. Jack wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Jack looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Tomassi wants to pass the guard but Jack is defending well.

Jack looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Tomassi is thwarting Jack's attempts to control the position.
Jack is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tomassi pulls his head out easily. Jack is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Roosters Coop that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Tomassi is looking to take a break and control but Jack is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Jack manages to get to full guard.
Jack doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Tomassi sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Tomassi decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Jack misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Billy Jack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jack moves into the clinch successfully.
Jack misses with a hook to the ribs.
Jack has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Tomassi after a bit of a struggle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Jack. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tomassi wants to break the clinch but can't.
Tomassi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. A slow jab from Tomassi misses its intended target. Tomassi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jack is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Tomassi. A head kick misses from Tomassi. Tomassi throws the left hand but Jack avoids the punch easily.
Jack has Tomassi up against the ropes in a clinch.
Jack pushes Tomassi back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch. Tomassi wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Tomassi stops a takedown attempt from Jack.
Jack tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jack fails to pull guard.
Jack jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tomassi walks away with a smile on his face. Jack gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. No luck for Jack with that takedown attempt. Borro Tomassi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Tomassi misses with a looping right.
Jack shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tomassi's guard.
Jack is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jack trying to control but Tomassi is working from the bottom. Tomassi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jack is controlling him. Tomassi tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jack drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jack jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Tomassi wants to stand up but Jack is controlling him. Tomassi is trying to control the position from the bottom.
 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Jack in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Jack trying to control the position from guard on top but Tomassi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tomassi wants to stand but Jack is controlling the position.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jack shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tomassi napping and manages to drive through into side control! Jack landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
 It looks like Borro Tomassi has been cut. Tomassi trying to remain calm as Jack controls from the top position. Jack connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Tomassi some visible discomfort.
Tomassi manages to get back to half guard. Jack wants to control but Tomassi is keeping him busy.
Jack is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Tomassi has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Jack is looking to take a break and control but Tomassi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

 That's eight minutes gone in the round. Jack stops Tomassi from getting back to his feet.
Tomassi kicks Jack off and gets back to his feet. Jack shoots in for a takedown but Tomassi shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Jack gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Tomassi counters with a left to the body. Tomassi throws a sloppy head kick
and Jack decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tomassi's guard. Jack postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Tomassi is looking to stand up but Jack isn't so interested in that idea. Jack trying to control but Tomassi is working from the bottom. Jack won't allow Tomassi to sweep him here. Tomassi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jack. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Jack won't allow Tomassi to get back to his feet. Tomassi wants to sweep here but Jack controlling him for the moment. Tomassi keeping moving, preventing Jack from controlling successfully. Jack slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Tomassi takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Jack thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jack is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tomassi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Jack tries for a kimura but Tomassi is defending well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jack working away.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Billy Jack. I think Jack has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
