Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Carisi (ranked 1254 p4p, 1830 weight class) and Rick Gordon (ranked 144 p4p, 200 weight class). Rick Gordon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sonny Carisi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Gordon!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carisi lands a jab to Gordon's midsection.
Carisi bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gordon's head.
Carisi connects with a body shot that sends Gordon's belly button to the back.
Gordon clinches up against the ropes.
Gordon jumps guard but Carisi turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.

Gordon pulls guard successfully.
Carisi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gordon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gordon tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Carisi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Carisi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Gordon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carisi is one step ahead there.
Gordon lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Gordon trying to control the position from guard on top but Carisi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carisi looking for a guillotine here but Gordon defends easily.

Gordon postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Carisi keeping moving, preventing Gordon from controlling successfully.
Carisi is trying to hold Gordon in close to prevent damage but Gordon has managed to pass into half guard.
Carisi wants to get back to full guard.
Carisi is refusing to be controlled, as Gordon sits in half guard.
Carisi trying to control but Gordon postures up.
Gordon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Gordon passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Carisi!

Gordon looking to finish Carisi with some ground and pound. This is bad for Carisi!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gordon has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Carisi's face.
Carisi can't escape the position.
