Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jaylan Spence!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Casimir Volkov!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spence as he avoids it easily.
Volkov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Volkov showed some decent athleticism there.
Volkov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Spence does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Spence is trying to maintain the position but Volkov is very close to passing his half guard.
Volkov prevents Spence from standing back up.
Spence manages to get to full guard.
Volkov postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Volkov is working for a submission of some sort.
Volkov wants to take a breather but Spence is having none of it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Volkov connects with a nice short shot to Spence's temple.
Spence wants to control but Volkov is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Spence tries to roll over but Volkov keeps him under control.
Volkov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Spence slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Volkov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Spence is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Volkov, into his guard.
Spence throwing strikes from guard but Volkov blocks nicely.
Spence wants to control from the top but Volkov keeps moving.
Spence stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Volkov has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Spence manages to get his head free but now Volkov has transitioned to an armbar! Spence grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Volkov! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Casimir Volkov!
