Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Will Hopper (ranked 76 p4p, 277 weight class) and Maman Suraman (ranked 10 p4p, 40 weight class). Will Hopper has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Will Hopper!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maman Suraman!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suraman shoots and misses
and Hopper counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Maman Suraman has been cut.
Nice straight punches there by Hopper. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hopper.
Suraman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hopper avoids it really well and circles away.
Hopper tried to counter with a leg kick but Suraman avoided it.

and Hopper counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Suraman shoots for a takedown but Hopper saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Hopper counters with a straight right hand.
Suraman has a takedown stuffed.
Hopper loads up on a big right hand but Suraman slips the punch.
Hopper misses with a low kick as Suraman jumps back.
Suraman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hopper's waist but Hopper gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Suraman off to one side.
Will Hopper is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hopper throws a leg kick that is checked

and Suraman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hopper won't be happy with that.
Suraman tries to advance to mount but Hopper denies him.
Suraman creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hopper sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Suraman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Suraman in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Suraman misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Suraman goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hopper has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Suraman but great work by Hopper.
Suraman throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Suraman is looking to regain half guard here but Hopper keeps moving and retains side control.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Suraman dives in and grabs Hopper's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hopper pushes down on Suraman's head and hops out.

Suraman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hopper haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Hopper is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Suraman is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hopper throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Suraman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hopper defends it nicely.
It looked like Hopper wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Suraman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Suraman misses with a takedown attempt - Hopper sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Suraman tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hopper defends well and Suraman ends up having to push Hopper into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

A quick step to the side and Hopper tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Suraman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hopper throws out the jab.

Hopper is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Hopper lands a big head kick that sends Suraman tumbling to the mat! Hopper takes a step backwards and waves Suraman back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Hopper circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Suraman to the canvas! Suraman doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Hopper keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
