Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Pushkin (ranked 88 p4p, 289 weight class) and Ken Vrjalya (ranked 14 p4p, 44 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksandr Pushkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ken Vrjalya! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Pushkin shoots in but no luck this time. Vrjalya feints the counter takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vrjalya fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Pushkin drops down looking for a counter takedown but Vrjalya sprawls and moves away.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Vrjalya just misses with a punch to the body.
Pushkin changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Vrjalya has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Vrjalya misses with the combination.
Pushkin appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Vrjalya displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pushkin. Vrjalya changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Pushkin is fighting to break Vrjalya's control of his arms but Vrjalya is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Vrjalya tries to land a sweep but no joy. Pushkin wants to control from the top but Vrjalya keeps moving. Vrjalya controlling the position. Vrjalya looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Pushkin engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Pushkin pushes down on Vrjalya's leg and manages to get into half guard. Pushkin looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Vrjalya is not content to let Pushkin control the position. Vrjalya is looking for a sweep. Pushkin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pushkin wants to pass to mount but Vrjalya is defending the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vrjalya wants to control but Pushkin is keeping busy.
Vrjalya is refusing to be controlled, as Pushkin sits in half guard. Pushkin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
 It looks like Ken Vrjalya has been cut. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pushkin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Vrjalya is looking for a sweep. Pushkin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that is the end of the round. Vrjalya is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Vrjalya looking to pass the guard. Pushkin has his foot on Vrjalya's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vrjalya works his way back into a safe position though. Vrjalya trying to control but Pushkin is working from the bottom.

Vrjalya controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Pushkin pulls Vrjalya in close to prevent any damage. Pushkin keeping full guard, as Vrjalya tries to pass. Pushkin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Vrjalya stays in close to Pushkin's body and controls the position.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Pushkin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Vrjalya slaps away a takedown attempt from Pushkin, before circling back to the center of the mat. Vrjalya tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. No luck for Pushkin with that takedown attempt. Vrjalya is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Vrjalya showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Ken Vrjalya's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Vrjalya fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pushkin to the ground. Vrjalya is now in Pushkin's guard. Pushkin looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Vrjalya puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Pushkin wants to get back to full guard. Vrjalya sitting and controlling from the half guard. Pushkin is staying active underneath Vrjalya, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Ken Vrjalya has got the better of the ground game so far. Vrjalya is pressing down on Pushkin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pushkin is holding on for now. Pushkin wants to control but Vrjalya is keeping busy.
Vrjalya is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Pushkin tries to roll over but Vrjalya keeps him under control. Pushkin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Pushkin working a defensive guard here.

Perhaps he's looking to stall. Pushkin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Pushkin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vrjalya manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Vrjalya misses with a hook
and Pushkin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pushkin. Vrjalya lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Pushkin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vrjalya can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Pushkin is trying to control the position from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight! Ken Vrjalya comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Vrjalya has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
