Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lionel Lazardo (ranked 1571 p4p, 802 weight class) and Elliot Hawthorne (ranked 171 p4p, 96 weight class). Hawthorne has chosen Don't Push Me - 50 Cent as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lionel Lazardo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Elliot Hawthorne! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Steven Brown.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circle momentarily. Lazardo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Lazardo misses with a takedown and Hawthorne counters with a lovely straight right hand!
 It looks like Lionel Lazardo has been cut.
Hawthorne gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lazardo to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Lazardo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lazardo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lazardo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lazardo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hawthorne doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hawthorne manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hawthorne's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lazardo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hawthorne can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hawthorne got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lazardo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hawthorne has managed to get both his arms back between Lazardo's legs - danger averted.
Lazardo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hawthorne gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hawthorne trying to control the position from guard on top but Lazardo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hawthorne stands up from guard. Let's bang! Lazardo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hawthorne to score with a decent uppercut. Hawthorne ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lazardo rushes Hawthorne and presses him up against the cage. Hawthorne tries to work over Lazardo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Lazardo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lazardo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hawthorne just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lionel Lazardo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hawthorne jumps guard and drags Lazardo to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hawthorne is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lazardo's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Lazardo is working to get back to half guard.

Hawthorne is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lazardo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hawthorne trying to control but he's not successful this time. Lazardo working to try and regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hawthorne landing strikes from the mount and Lazardo is in trouble! Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Lazardo tries to get back to half guard but can't. Lazardo is trying to stand up. Hawthorne raining down hammerfists from mount. Hawthorne cracks Lazardo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Hawthorne has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Lazardo tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hawthorne sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Lazardo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Lazardo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Hawthorne working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Lazardo looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Hawthorne! Submission of the night perhaps?
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Elliot Hawthorne! Elliot Hawthorne got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!' Lionel Lazardo spoke after the fight, saying 'ima comeback even better im going to need a quickturn around'.
