The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Der Arts walks into a straight right hand from Adabuwayle.
Nice sprawl there from Adabuwayle as Van Der Arts shoots in.
Adabuwayle throws out a counter right but Van Der Arts avoids it with no problem.
Adabuwayle ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Van Der Arts moves away.
Van Der Arts tries to counter with a takedown but Adabuwayle is quick to defend against it.
Adabuwayle misses with a jab, cross combination.
Van Der Arts throws a right and a left that both miss.
A low kick lands for Adabuwayle.
Joop Van Der Arts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Der Arts takes a swing at Adabuwayle's ribcage but misses.
Van Der Arts shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Adabuwayle napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Adabuwayle tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Adabuwayle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Van Der Arts. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Van Der Arts is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Adabuwayle is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
