Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Matthias Daniel (ranked 2954 p4p, 3408 weight class) and Shinobu Ota (ranked 236 p4p, 261 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Matthias Daniel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinobu Ota! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ota scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Ota closes the distance and clinches up with Daniel, looking for a takedown. Ota pushes Daniel against the cage but Daniel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Daniel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ota as he jumps to the side. Ota stuffs the takedown. Daniel has his takedown stuffed
and Ota counters with a nice double leg into guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matthias Daniel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Daniel throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Daniel keeping moving, preventing Ota from controlling successfully. Ota landing with the ground and pound. Ota trying to control the position from guard on top but Daniel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Daniel seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Daniel throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ota lands a couple of elbows.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Ota trying to control but Daniel is working from the bottom. Daniel wants to sweep but no luck. Ota trying to control but Daniel is working from the bottom. Ota is looking to work some ground and pound but Daniel has wrist control. Daniel trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Ota landing some decent shots from guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ota's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Ota trying to control the position from guard on top but Daniel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ota stopping the sweep attempt from Daniel. Ota missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Daniel holds on and takes a little breather. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Ota postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Ota engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Ota fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Daniel avoids it really well and circles away.
Daniel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Daniel lands in his opponent's guard. Daniel is looking to work some ground and pound but Ota has wrist control.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ota is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Daniel is aware though and is defending well. Daniel lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Daniel trying to control the position from guard on top but Ota is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ota throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Daniel passes into half guard. Daniel missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Daniel slows the pace down in half guard. Daniel is looking to take a break and control but Ota is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ota is looking for a sweep. Daniel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ota looking for submissions off his back. Ota is refusing to be controlled, as Daniel sits in half guard. Ota is trying to get back to full guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ota can do anything to dispel that myth. Daniel is looking to stall here but Ota recovers full guard. Daniel not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Daniel won't allow Ota to sweep him here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shinobu Ota dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Ota goes for a double leg but Daniel avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Daniel continues to drive forward. Ota throws a leg kick that is checked
and Daniel counters with a nice double leg into guard. Ota manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Daniel manages to get himself to full guard.

Ota stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Daniel throws up his legs and catches Ota in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Ota tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Daniel! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Matthias Daniel!
