Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lazaros Constantinou (ranked 1206 p4p, 1439 weight class) and Janne Varis (ranked 153 p4p, 176 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lazaros Constantinou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Janne Varis!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Constantinou throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Varis drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Constantinou defends it well.
Constantinou shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Varis as he jumps to the side.
Varis throws a wild body kick that Constantinou sees coming a mile off.
Constantinou throws a quick inside leg kick.
Constantinou darts in and clinches Varis up against the cage.
Varis tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Constantinou prevents a body shot from Varis.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Varis stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Constantinou shoots in for a takedown but Varis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Lazaros Constantinou will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Horrible takedown attempt by Constantinou or perhaps it was just good defense by Varis, which made it look bad.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Varis.

We've been told by Constantinou's head coaches at Mighty MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
