Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Orlando Hendricks (ranked 737 p4p, 1675 weight class) and Ezra Gray (ranked 106 p4p, 211 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Orlando Hendricks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ezra Gray!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Hendricks counters with a crisp one two that drops Gray! Hendricks thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Gray to his feet! Gray is in big trouble!

Gray's coach down at Roosters Coop was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gray's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

It looked like Hendricks was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Gray throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hendricks counters with a nice right hand that sends Gray toppling to the canvas! Gray scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Hendricks finish him?!
Gray is still on wobbly legs! Can Hendricks finish him?
That has opened up Ezra Gray's cut even more.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hendricks lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Gray head around and knocks him out cold! Hendricks hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Orlando Hendricks!
A relieved looking Orlando Hendricks thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
