The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace just misses with a punch to the body.

Wallace throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
We've been hearing reports that Pederson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Wallace's coach down at Temple of Fitness was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Wallace's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Wallace throws the left hand but Pederson avoids the punch easily.

Pederson shoots in looking for a takedown. Wallace tries to sprawl out of it but Pederson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wallace manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Wallace connects with a body shot that sends Pederson's belly button to the back.

Wallace throws the left hand but Pederson avoids the punch easily.

Pederson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Wallace's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Wallace tries to lock up and control but Pederson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Pederson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Poor strikes thrown by Pederson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Wallace's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Wallace takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Pederson's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Deanthony Pederson!
Deanthony Pederson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
