The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santoro avoids a punch combination nicely.
Santoro lands a head kick. Nurmagomedov smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Santoro has a takedown stuffed.
Santoro closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nurmagomedov circles away.
Santoro throws a sloppy head kick and Nurmagomedov moves out of range easily.
Nurmagomedov appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Nurmagomedov connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Santoro momentarily.
Nurmagomedov fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Santoro to the ground. Nurmagomedov is now in Santoro's guard.
Nurmagomedov slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Santoro is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nurmagomedov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Santoro is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Santoro is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Nurmagomedov has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Santoro is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Nurmagomedov yanks on the arm and Santoro is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Nurmagomedov.

Khabib Nurmagomedov got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
