Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gord Ryan (ranked 24 p4p, 182 weight class) and Presley Chai (ranked 4 p4p, 27 weight class). Ryan comes to the cage accompanied by Rusty Cage. Gord Ryan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gord Ryan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Presley Chai!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chai gets a clinch.
Ryan throws a head punch that misses.
Chai doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Ryan throws an elbow that misses.
Chai swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Ryan throws a head punch that misses.
Ryan works on Chai's body with a couple of short punches.
Ryan struggles to land a body shot inside as Chai controls his hands.
A right hand to the body from Ryan.
Ryan's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Ryan tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Ryan pushes off an throws an elbow but Chai leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Chai has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Chai ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ryan moves away.

As Chai looks to move away, Ryan throws a big counter combo but Chai just gets out of the way.
Ryan takes a jab right on the kisser.
It looks like Gord Ryan has been cut.
Ryan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Chai finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Ryan's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Chai falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gord Ryan!

An out of breath Gord Ryan thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
